Issue following upgrade from 16.04 to 17.10. I realize that it is not
the ideal path, however any guidance to sort it out prior to install
18.04 would be appreciated. These are fairly small defects out of a
simpler installation process such that it would be beneficial to fix
them, if this might be of help for other users. It is unclear how to get
started: trying to remove involved packages does not work, and same when
trying to install of fix install.
