** Summary changed:

- nvidia module has to be whitelisted in order for suspension to ram to
function flawlessly
+ nvidia module has to be put in the Module section of acpi-support in order
for suspension to ram to function flawlessly

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: nvidia-glx-new

- I am using Kubuntu Gutsy on a Dell Inspiron 6400. I have had many problems
with suspension to ram (sometimes the machine would reboot instead of resuming,
many times the lid button would not issue the suspend command). Today I tried
the hibernate scripts out of desperation, seen that nvidia and ipw3945 modules
gave problems. So I decided to open the /etc/default/acpi-support file.
Whitelisting the ipw3945 module does more harm than good (creates additional
problems) but whitelisting the nvidia module does solve all the issues I had.
As the driver is closed-source I do not expect than anyone (except maybe guys
at Nvidia) can fix the problem, but maybe it would be a good policy to add a
little script upon nvidia driver installation which whitelists the module in
the acpi-support file.

I am very prone to give any required additional information and/or try any
