Thanks for reporting. You are correct that 2.7.0 has been uploaded to Debian unstable. Normally this would be synced automatically to the current development version of Ubuntu, however on March 1st Ubuntu bionic entered feature freeze [1]. It is still possible to get this package synced manually, please see [2] for details, but it will likely require a Feature Freeze Exception [3].
