Same for me, with an addition : I updated from feisty in the week preceding the updates towards gutsy. After some fight, and installing nvidia-new, I was surprised to be in XGL with far better framerate in compiz than ever. BUT after an update short after the official release of gutsy, all the rendering seems very very slow. - XGL takes 100% of the cpu in simple tasks as writing in phpBB forums (??) - compiz doesn't work anymore, and glxgears is around 2000 fp/s and seems real slow As described, I've check that both kernel and Xgl drivers are the same and good ones. And I've tried installing with the nvidia script, and this didn't change a thing.
So strange thing is : it worked fine with me some times... but a nasty update broke Xgl -- [Gutsy] XGL halves nvidia driver 100.14.11 performance https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/136650 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
