Public bug reported:

Steps to reproduce:

1. Create IMSM RAID in BIOS
2. Boot to Ubuntu 18.04 installation
3. Activate RAID devices in step “Detect disks”.
4. Go to “Partition disks”

Expected results:
RAID volume is visible in “Partition disks” section. It can also be partitioned
to fit requirements of the installation.

Actual results:
RAID volume is not visible in “Partition disks” section.

Additional observations:
After switching to another console and checking " cat /proc/mdstat ", only raid
container is assembled (raid volume is not visible).
As workaround:
mdadm –I /dev/containerName (like mdadm –I /dev/md127) makes RAID visible in
installer.
