When selecting the "Basic Ubuntu Server" from the installation dialogs
of the daily-build ISO 390 images, the following error message is
displayed:
Installation step failed
An installation step failed. You can try to run the failing item again
from the menu,
or skip it and choose something else. The failing step is: Select and
install software
At the time of the error, the /var/log/syslog file of the installer
system showed the following entries:

through 22. March 2018.
