Further note and another try at installation: ================================================= I used the "Universal USB Installer-1.9.8.0" to create the USB stick that I then used to install Ubuntu. >From this USB stick, I booted to "Try Ubuntu"
Once booted I opened a terminal: sudo rm /usr/lib/ubiquity/apt-setup/generators/40cdrom Then I click the "Install 16.04LTS" icon. I selected Download updates while installing and I selected Install third-party software. I've tried installation quite a few times, and trying different things. The new thing that I hadn't tried was the removing of the 40cdrom file. I tried numerous times and ways, but that was new this time, and of course I'm not sure if this was the trick, but I thought I would mention it. After awhile, it completed installation and I was able to reboot, and then login. So as far as getting the basic installation, I'm okay. ============================================= -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1758251 Title: Ubuntu 16.04.4LTS installation doesn't finish, sends report To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1758251/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
