I've had a problem with Ubuntu Software Center not showing up in applications, as well as Steam, and some other programs so maybe some system problem is at work here. I tried sending error reports but I suppose they didn't get sent. The error report was that there is an internal problem. I restored files, and was able to use Ubuntu Software Center and look for the Steam application in Software Center. Thanks.
