Is your router a d-link ? If yes, it is a bug in d-link's firmware see
here : http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=78271

Ubuntu should detect such dns failure and fix the connection (maybe by
disabling ipv6 automatically).

I have three friends who are having similar issues because of this
router and I cannot ask them to upgrade the firmware as it works fine in
Windows,
