Pratik -

If you don't see the boot menu (Try Ubuntu, Install Ubuntu, etc) - hold
the shift button when booting until you do see it. I wasn't sure which
button it was, so I was alternating between shift and F6, but I am
pretty sure it is shift.

Once you see the menu, you will have a short delay before it
automatically times out. If you at least use the arrow keys really
quick to move around, it will give you some breathing room.

You can use either Try or Install, but I was using Try so that I could
disable power save from the settings menu before starting the installer.

Move the arrow to the one you want, and click `e` for edit (there should
be instructions at the bottom of the page telling you that in case you
forget.

Use the arrow keys to move down to the line starting with `linux ` and
add `acpi=off` before the end. Note, if you see something like `---` or
`$vt_handoff` those have to be last. I normally just replace the `quiet
splash` because you don't really want those.

When you are ready, hit `F10`. The instructions are at the bottom if you
forget.

The screen will be HUGE. I think it is 800x600 or maybe even 640x480.
The installer barely fits on the screen.

The changes will not persist. If you have to restart the installer, you
will have to do it again.

If the install completes, the new system will not have that option
enabled. I do not think you want it enabled on the live system, but if
you do - it goes into /etc/default/grub.
