At the first you should flash the current BIOS version 2.30-1.08 (!). The Core 2 Duo has implemented the Intel64 extension. You should install Bionic 64 bit (usefully Lubuntu) w/o Flash. It exists a serious hardware issue with T61 and Nvdia GPU. This may affect your device.
