Could you please recheck it with Gutsy Final Live CD? In Gutsy i810 driver is
deprecated and intel driver is used instead.
If you have upgraded it is possible that you have an xorg.conf with Xinerama
which isn't supported by new Intel driver anymore. Use xrandr instead.
If it doesn't help please attach the files '/var/log/Xorg.0.log',
'/var/log/Xorg.0.log.old' and '~/.xsession-errors' and the output of 'lspci
-vvnn'?
