Public bug reported:
I have just installed Ubuntu Bionic Beaver 18.04 and after installing
the topcat package, I try to run topcat from the console and I get the
following error (and the program finish without starting):
$ topcat
Error: LinkageError occurred while loading main class
uk.ac.starlink.topcat.Driver
java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: uk/ac/starlink/topcat/Driver
has been compiled by a more recent version of the Java Runtime (class file
version 54.0), this version of the Java Runtime only recognizes class file
versions up to 53.0
This is the first time that I report a bug. I hope that the following
lines show the required information for reproducing the bug. Thanks!
