Public bug reported: I installed the second beta of bionic, and bash history didn't work.
Turns out the installer created my user account but left .bash_history owned by root. It should have been owned by the user. I used the lubuntu installer, so I don't know whose bug this actually is. It was downloaded from here: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/lubuntu/releases/bionic/beta-2/ I see this bug reported twice in launchpad, but they're both from long ago. See https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/terminator/+bug/1198413 To be complete, here's the lsb_release -rd output: Description: Ubuntu Bionic Beaver (development branch) Release: 18.04 ** Affects: terminator (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1765256 Title: Install left bash_history owned by root To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/terminator/+bug/1765256/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
