Binary package hint: displayconfig-gtk

The screen resolution on my up-to-date Xubuntu 7.10 is reset to 800x600
on each login. The gdm login screen is not affected by this.

System: Xubuntu 7.10 running under VirtualBox 1.5.2 on Windows XP
Video Driver: vboxvideo
Monitor: LCD Panel 1024x768

Steps to reproduce bug:
1. Boot Xubuntu in Virtual Box virtual machine
2. Login screen is displayed with 1024x768
3. After login, resolution changes to 800x600
4. Open "Screen and Graphics Preferences", change resolution dropdown to 
1024x768, click OK
5. Resolution changes to 1024x768, click "Keep configuration"
6. Logout
7. Login screen is displayed with 1024x768
8. After login, resolution changes to 800x600 again
9. repeat from step 4 ...

Please let me know if any configuration or log files would help.
