I've got a similar issue. I've got a Dell 1420n with Ubuntu preloaded, upgraded to gutsy.
On AC power, after a short period of inactivity (not what I have set in Power Management) the screen brightness will turn back to 100% (as it is set in Power Management) regardless of what has been done with the Fn keys. New activity does not reverse this brightness adjustment. On battery power, after a short period of inactivity (not what I have set in Power Management) the screen brightness will turn down to 70% (as it is set in Power Management) regardless of what has been done with the Fn keys. New activity does not reverse this brightness adjustment either. I can't tell if this is a poorly implemented feature or just a glitch, but if there is going to be autodimming it should be reversed when activity resumes. And there should be no autodimming on AC power. -- [Gutsy]Backlight brightness dims after a minute of idle on battery, regardless of preferences. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/151018 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
