I confirm a power usage issue. Dell 7510 (too !) Ubuntu (GNOME) 18.04 Nvidia M1000M
I found that the file : /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-nvidia.conf is not removed by prime when switching to Nvidia, so the module cannot be loaded (as far I understand the stuff). When I remove it and load with Nvidia mode, the Nvidia module is loaded, not the Nouveau module. The grub option "nouveau.run-pm=0" (or something like that) is either not removed when purging Nvidia-390 stack. Removing it manually allows to use Nouveau with normal (low) power usage. I did not succeed to get a Nvidia-390 with Intel mode AND dGPU powered off. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1765363 Title: prime-select intel is not powering off the nvidia card To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-prime/+bug/1765363/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
