Public bug reported: Installing Ubuntu 18.04 on a Macbook Pro Retina 15 breaks during copying files to the destination drive.
Reproducable Installation parameters: Encrypt HD (install LVM) Install 3rd party drivers After selecting user, HD encryption key and committing, Installation program crashes during file copy. HD is left in a semi-installed state. Restart of Installation not possible any more (complains about already encrypted HD and reverts to parameter settings) This report is written from another machine ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 17.10 Package: ubuntu-release-upgrader-core 1:17.10.11 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.13.0-39.44-generic 4.13.16 Uname: Linux 4.13.0-39-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.7-0ubuntu3.8 Architecture: amd64 CrashDB: ubuntu CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Sat Apr 28 12:37:48 2018 InstallationDate: Installed on 2017-10-20 (189 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 17.10 "Artful Aardvark" - Release amd64 (20171018) PackageArchitecture: all SourcePackage: ubuntu-release-upgrader Symptom: ubuntu-release-upgrader UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: ubuntu-release-upgrader (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug artful dist-upgrade -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1767633 Title: Installation of Ubuntu 18.04 crashes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-release-upgrader/+bug/1767633/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
