Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: update-manager

After a clean install of Kubuntu 7.10 on an Acer Aspire laptop, I
proceeded to updating some packages (as recommended by the TASKBAR
icon). The updated stated that there was a new system version available
or update for which I agreed. The upgrade eventually detected that the
system was "up to date" and cancelled itself. After that, I am left with
a "corrupted" K-menu which seems to be the result of a half-completed
update. Most entries have generic labels and description prepended to
them.

** Affects: update-manager (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
