This is a fresh install of Ubuntu 18.04. My boot time is extremely slow
(I have attached the systemd boot log), and often, after login I get an
orange screen with cursor and nothing else. When I do get to the
desktop, Simple Screen recorder can't record with h264, even though I've
installed restricted extras. I tried purging and reinstall, but that
didn't work. I also tried purging and reinstalling gstreamer plugins,
amdgpudriver, and ubuntu-restricted-extras. I also reinstalled the
entire distro multiple times, even RE-downloading the ISO, even though
the checksum was good. Every app is extremely slow to start.
I do have to add that I've been trying out Ubuntu Mate, Ubuntu Budgie
and Kubuntu, and haven't had any of the problems I'm reporting here.
