I can confirm this bug. I am on a Dell Precision 390.

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ lspci |grep udio
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition
Audio Controller (rev 01)

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ aplay -l
aplay: device_list:204: no soundcards found...

Seems like there's something awry with the snd-hda-intel kernel module:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ uname -a
Linux thunder 2.6.22-14-386 #1 Sun Oct 14 22:36:54 GMT 2007 i686 GNU/Linux
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ dpkg -S "snd-hda-intel"
linux-image-2.6.20-16-generic:
/lib/modules/2.6.20-16-generic/kernel/sound/pci/hda/snd-hda-intel.ko
linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.22-14-generic:
/lib/modules/2.6.22-14-generic/ubuntu/media/snd-hda-intel/snd-hda-intel.ko
linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.22-14-generic:
/lib/modules/2.6.22-14-generic/ubuntu/media/snd-hda-intel
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo modprobe snd-hda-indel
FATAL: Module snd_hda_indel not found.

Any suggestions?
