Public bug reported:

I have my personal data in a separate partition, and when I do a new install of
a distro
(Originally Ubuntu, then Lubuntu for a long time, now Lubuntu Next) always
change xdg's user-dirs.dirs to point at directories in my partition:
"
#XDG_DESKTOP_DIR="$HOME/Desktop"
#XDG_DOWNLOAD_DIR="$HOME/Downloads"
#XDG_TEMPLATES_DIR="$HOME/Templates"
#XDG_PUBLICSHARE_DIR="$HOME/Public"
#XDG_DOCUMENTS_DIR="$HOME/Documents"
#XDG_MUSIC_DIR="$HOME/Music"
#XDG_PICTURES_DIR="$HOME/Pictures"
#XDG_VIDEOS_DIR="$HOME/Videos"
#
XDG_DESKTOP_DIR="/data/scott/Desktop"
XDG_DOWNLOAD_DIR="/data/scott/Downloads"
XDG_TEMPLATES_DIR="/data/scott/Templates"
XDG_PUBLICSHARE_DIR="/data/scott/Public"
XDG_DOCUMENTS_DIR="/data/scott/Documents"
XDG_MUSIC_DIR="/data/scott/Music"
XDG_PICTURES_DIR="/data/scott/Photos"
XDG_VIDEOS_DIR="/data/scott/Videos"
"

When I invoked PCManFM to test something (I use Nemo regularly), and clicked on
what I believe is the icon for "Desktop" in the left panel, I get the error
window with the text:
Error when getting information for file “/home/scott/"/data/scott/Desktop" ”:
No such file or directory

(ah, yes - I see that there IS text for the left panel icons, it is
merely that as the default display comes up, there is no room to show
anything next to the icons except "...")

The bookmarks in the left panel, and in the menu DO seem to work
correctly, and point to my re-defined user-dirs.

It appears that only the desktop icon in the left panel has a problem...
