You don't need to reinstall. Only boot the Gutsy Final desktop CD and check if resolution and everything else works fine. 915resolution isn't needed anymore for new Intel driver which is default in Gutsy. But afaik Intel driver has still some problems with i855 card (Bug #108056). At least attach the informations I asked for.
