Public bug reported: An older bug that is still present and worse for me in Xubuntu 18.04 than in the previous 16.04 LTS.
Often I go to load the contents of a new directory by clicking on it. Thunar displays a throbber/spinner icon just below the 'X' to close the window. Frequently, the window then freezes and has to be closed. Sometimes I can break the 'hang' by trying to change to another directory quickly but more often than not Thunar does not recover and the window has to be closed. Interestingly, other open instances of Thunar are unaffected. They do not hang.
