Dear Joseph, thanks for the reply. I was unable to test the latest upstream kernel because of a libssl1.1 issue [1], which does not let me install the latest 4.16.7 or v4.17-rc4. If you have any idea how to bypass the issue, let me know (also installed openssl1.1.0h but didn't change anything) However, I've installed the latest 4.15.18-041518-generic, because I thought that is a good idea since ubuntu is going to have that kernel in 16.04.5 [2], and authentication works. Today, also the latest vanilla kernel came out (4.13.0-41), which still has the same issue with authentication.
Summary of authentication: WORKS: <= 4.13.0-37 WORKS NOT: > 4.13.0-37 (up to 4.13.0-41) WORKS: == 4.15.18-041518-generic TBD: == 4.16.7 TBD: == 4.17-rc4 I won't change the status since I am a bit unsure given the above install issues.
