Finally got around to test this. ANd this are my findings: 1. Installed 4.15-rc1 above, rebooted the machine, and did not see the issue.

I rebooted for a second time to see if the issue was present, but did not see the issue. 3. On the third attempt. I installed [1]. After I installed, I proceeded to reboot the machine. ANd this is when I saw the issue, even though the [1] kernel wasn't the running kernel.
