This also happened to me. GUI install, Erase all with encryption selected. With a 250GB SSD and 12GB memory the installer gave me a 1GB swap partition and 249GB root partition.
Workaround: I initially tried to resize the partitions manually after installation but this proved tricky ( see this page if you want to try: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ResizeEncryptedPartitions ) Far easier was to simply add a swap file to the root partition: https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-add-swap-space- on-ubuntu-16-04 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1767299 Title: Ubuntu 18.04 Installer creates swap partition too small To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/partman-auto/+bug/1767299/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
