During install observed lz error during unpacking files.

bug manifests as fail during logon which flips back to the signon
screen.


Fast path to recovery was power down, popping out the nvidia card and
installing an ancient AMD card which automatically restored nouveau
allowing purge of broken packages using synaptic pkg manager .

Reverting back to the nvidia-340 pack restored function after
repopulating the nvidia card.
