Hi
I have just installed (with apt) last stable version 4.0.0 on my Kubuntu 18.04
rectangular selectio was not working.
After a lot of digging I have found that the option:
rectangular.selection.modifier
was set to 8.
For Linux should be 2 (ctrl), and indeed now it is working
I was not sure if to report a bug
