Public bug reported:

To replicate:

Connect to a wifi network (wired untested). The problem occurs most
consistently for DHCP configured connections but is also a significant
problem for manually configured connection.

Expected results:

IPv4 and IPv6 should both auto-configure correctly and be usable: as
they were in previous versions of Ubuntu, and still are on other devices
and operating systems.

Actual results:

IPv6 is automatically configured correctly and I have no difficulty
using IPv6 services. Most of the time no IPv4 address is configured.
Manually configuring an IPv4 address is possible but usually does not
result in a working IPv4 connection (pinging the gateway gives
"destination host unreachable")
