Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: update-manager
About halfway through the "installing the upgrades" step, I got several
errors of the flavor "Bad file descriptor".
[Later, when entering this bug report, I tried to copy (via Ctrl+c) the
end of the terminal session, but when I did that the upgrade manager
completely crashed.]
