I believe -Bsymbolic-functions was on since Ubuntu's inception in
2004. But I'm failing to find documentation of this flag on e.g.
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ToolChain/CompilerFlags

@ matthias, could you please provide comments about
symbolic-functions? Should it be added to
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ToolChain/CompilerFlags ?
