Sorry for the rollup bug and I appreciate the feedback. I don't normally file bugs like this, but I thought I would document what I encountered during the rare and hard-to-repeat event of reinstalling my main laptop, especially since it all related to ubiquity, in case it had value for anyone.
Hope it was clear from the title that this related to Lubuntu, which might explain e.g. differing fonts and window layouts. So what should the difference be with respect to 'minimal install'? I was expecting lubuntu-core without lubuntu-desktop, but I ended up with Firefox and the whole shebang. Perhaps my expectations are wrong. If you are not able to reproduce that's good news.
