That's not true. I had no idea what "snap" was in this context, until I
found a snap folder in my source control repository, and had to find out
what it was. And what's in mine? A single subfolder called "gnome-
system-monitor". I'm pretty sure that isn't a music file, or a document,
or a picture, or anything else that I'll ever want to look at (or keep
under version control).

Sure, it's easy enough to add to run "echo snap >> ~/.hidden"... and to
alias ls to ls -Isnap ... and to add snap to .gitignore ... and to
.hgignore ... and to revert the latest changes to git and mercurial
(provided I haven't pushed it anywhere, which fortunately I hadn't).

But it's a right pain in the derriere.
