Thank you for caring. I followed the advice in https://askubuntu.com/questions/971477/ubuntu-17-10-keeps-locking-up- and-freezing-mouse-and-keyboard-input-doesnt-wor and added this to my /etc/default/grub:
quiet splash intel_idle.max_cstate=1 The system is stable since then. According to https://gist.github.com/wmealing/2dd2b543c4d3cff6cab7 using cstate 1 might be a bit paranoid, so I will experiment with the maximum reliable value. Sorry I cannot test the upstream kernel, because I need the nvidia driver/cuda combination for my daily work. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1777311 Title: System freezes randomly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1777311/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
