Unfortuntately in the default logs tomcat is rather scarce at words.
  tomcat8.service: Failed with result 'exit-code'.

This is due to some local config on your system as it generally works.
You might check out catalina log (if it is still called that way) why your 
server fails.

Or you can purge/reinstall the package to start clean (warning loosing
your tomcat associated data).

But from the logs this can't really be actioned on atm, sorry.
