Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are currently reviewing bug reports regarding older kernels. I've verified that this patch did not make it into the linux- source-2.6.17 release. Unfortunately, his bug does not meet the criteria for a stable release update and are marking this as "Won't Fix". However, now that the 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon release of Ubuntu is out, I've verified this fix is incorporated. If you haven't already done so, I'd encourage you to download and try the new version of Ubuntu from http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download .
