I finally solved this conflict by these steps:
A. remove ondrej's ppa:
add-apt-repository --remove ppa:ondrej/apache2
B. update:
apt update
C. remove php-common:
apt remove php-common
D. install php-common (reinstalling is not enough, first ondrej's php-common
has to be removed):
apt install php-common php-gd
** Changed in: php7.2 (Ubuntu)
Status: New => Invalid
