Hello, No, this is no longer a problem in recent Ubuntu. In fact, it seems it was only a *superposition* of control keys: producing diacritics for Romanian language using a standard US keyboard requires pressing AltGr (right Alt) + <letter> where <letter> is one of i, t,s,c,[,],a,q,l,d,e. If these combinations of keys accidentally have other meanings in Thunderbird, Unity or the Gnome interface, they bring trouble, because they open various menus, close windows, etc. This is not the case now, anymore; it certainly WAS the case at the time when the bug was reported, with that specific version of Ubuntu, GUI (Unity, I think) and Thunderbird.
