Have upgraded my fathers machine from 7.04 to 7.10 using dist-upgrade.

All updates have been applied.
Issue is quite serious as it seems to prevent sometimes a network connection 
from being established, does not acquire ip number through DHCP then. Also 
regularly the ip address is being dropped.
So far the only way to get it back working is rebooting, which most of the time 
works.

Have not had a lot of opportunity yet to do some debugging.
