Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.22-14-generic
When opening selecting the first seven (from many) files [2] with an application (autopanopro) on an NFS4 mount, the application gets stuck in the D state, and I get a kernel message [1]. Arch is i686 on a clean 7.10 gutsy install. I rebuild the kernel with mainline 2.6.23.1 sources, and this problem does not occur, so has been fixed between 2.6.22 ubuntu and 2.6.23 mainline. It is suggested by [http://linux-nfs.org/pipermail/nfsv4/2007-August/006647.html] that the bug is fixed in 2.6.23-rc1. Let me know if more information is needed - Daniel --- [1] [ 224.788000] RESERVE_SPACE(398) failed in function encode_lookup [ 224.788000] ------------[ cut here ]------------ [ 224.788000] kernel BUG at /build/buildd/linux-source-2.6.22-2.6.22/fs/nfs/nfs4xdr.c:849!
