Jan: I agree. GParted should be and is designed to run using Free Software[1]. This is mentioned in the GParted mission statement [2].
[1] https://www.gnu.org/philosophy/free-sw.html [2] https://gparted.org/development.php#mission-statement If a check were to be added then in my opinion it would be better to rule out proprietary versions rather than try to verify Free Software versions. The reason being that Free Software versions and identification might change over time and as long as the command arguments are still valid, then GParted should permit the code to run. In other words, GParted should assume that the Free Software works. If it doesn't then a bug report can be raised and the issue dealt with at that time. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1780685 Title: gParted uses invalid -Q and -v flags from mkntfs To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gparted/+bug/1780685/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
