miked: from the error messages you attached, it seems you have installed both -dbgsym and -dbg packages. These packages cannot be used at the same time and you should choose only one type of these. So it is normal to get error messages when you install a dbgsym package when the corresponding -dbg has already been installed. To make sure updates will work again, you will have to remove the duplicated packages using synaptic.
>From the WIKI: Alternatively, main Ubuntu repositories could contain '-dbg' debug symbol packages. Those are equivalent to '-dbgsym'. You could use the one you want, but not both. Please let us know if this solves the problem. -- Bug does not report says it's not genuine ubuntu package https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/157720 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
