Hi, I have not forgotten your request to try linux-next. I’ve built the new kernel.
Please be advised that I copied the current kernel config file from /boot into the build directory. Upon running make, there where a significant number of new options. I choose to let them all go through on their default setting. I’m hoping to try the new kernel this weekend, but I need to backup my system first. My laptop only has usb 1.1 so this maybe slow. You are quite correct I’m running in i386 mode. I’ve got a 64bit Ubuntu image, 18-04, on a usb drive. It would be interesting to see how booting a live Ubuntu worked. For various reasons I’m keen to install the x64 and forget about the i386. But I’ll definitely try the new i386 build first. Any comments/suggestions are welcome. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1784585 Title: CPUs stall To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1784585/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
