I am at a writers conference for the next three days. My earliest opportunity to test will be on Monday, August 13th, 2018. I will plan to test xorg-server from xenial-proposed and let you know after I've completed testing. In the meantime Patrick has mentioned that the fix worked so I am hopeful it will work for me too.
