Hi Brian I have just tried this with Gutsy Gibbon and the original problem of the CMOS reset has disappeared to be replaced by a new one. Hibernate still works fine but when I try to suspend the laptop it shuts down but the fan changes to full speed and then remains on (even with the machine in suspend). I wouldn't worry too much about this because I'm almost 100% certain that it is caused by the Sony hardware which is NOT Linux friendly.
In the New Year this machine will be replaced by a Dell preloaded with Ubuntu Regards Ed Almos On 03/11/2007, Brian Murray <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make > Ubuntu better.
