I have the same issue with an old DELL Dimension C521, after a little debugging I've found that the problematic component is the PCI, it booted using:
pci=noacpi This system in particular doesn't has ACPI-based fan control so there isn't risk turning the acpi off. I'd followed: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingACPI -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1735024 Title: Cannot boot without acpi=off To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1735024/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
