Public bug reported: I upgraded from xenial to bionic when the system prompted me with the possibility to do it.
Apparently the upgrade process came to a normal end, but something in the ui were not ok. Finally, trying to "apt upgrade", I got a message saying that the package python3-aptdaemon.pkcompat conflicted with other (I don't remember what package) After removing python3-aptdaemon.pkcompat, apt upgrade could upgrade 1000+ packages ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 18.04 Package: ubuntu-release-upgrader-core 1:18.04.24 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.4.0-133.159-generic 4.4.134 Uname: Linux 4.4.0-133-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.1-0ubuntu2.18 Architecture: amd64 CrashDB: ubuntu CurrentDesktop: XFCE Date: Mon Aug 20 09:25:45 2018 InstallationDate: Installed on 2016-11-23 (634 days ago) InstallationMedia: Xubuntu 16.04.1 LTS "Xenial Xerus" - Release amd64 (20160719) PackageArchitecture: all SourcePackage: ubuntu-release-upgrader Symptom: ubuntu-release-upgrader UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to bionic on 2018-08-17 (2 days ago) VarLogDistupgradeTermlog: mtime.conffile..etc.update-manager.release-upgrades: 2018-08-07T09:43:41.315183 ** Affects: ubuntu-release-upgrader (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug bionic dist-upgrade -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1787893 Title: xenial -> bionic upgrade: package python3-aptdaemon.pkcompat prevents normal ending To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-release-upgrader/+bug/1787893/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
