3,4) What we expected and what happened instead:
A few weeks ago we began experiencing periodic freezes of the video,
accompanied by audio that looped constantly over a short (maybe 200ms?)
audio clip, presumably of whatever was playing at the time of the
freeze. We began having this problem when we updated from the 4.13.0-41
kernel (from ~20180518) to the 4.15.0-30 kernel (20180808). It can run
for days before freezing or it can happen within a few hours.
I found this report at RedHat
(https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1552124) that matches my
symptoms pretty well, and BTW I've thus far had good luck running an
older kernel (I reverted to 4.13.0-41 and it's been running for not
quite 3 days now, from Friday at ~18:00 through now (Monday, ~14:00)).
Since I've been unable to find any post-crash information in any of the
logs I checked (syslog, kern.log, etc), I enabled console logging on a
serial port in hopes of getting more info. I just now got that. Here
are those console backtraces, which I guess I don't really know how to
read.
