Public bug reported: Series: Cosmic sddm: 0.18.0-1ubuntu2 casper: 1.395
Since casper change: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/casper/1.395 "Set empty live user password on all flavours, this was previously gdm specific." sddm login to the live session is not possible. e.g. should the live session user log out or restart X/sddm In discussion @ https://github.com/sddm/sddm/issues/751 it appears that sddm does not support login with an empty password. Focus of that discussion is more towards autologin when clicking a user with a black password, but it is also clear that clicking login with no password in the password box for a passwordless user will also fail. ** Affects: casper (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: sddm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: casper (Ubuntu Cosmic) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: sddm (Ubuntu Cosmic) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: casper (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: casper (Ubuntu Cosmic) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: sddm (Ubuntu Cosmic) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1788797 Title: Regression: Live session login via sddm (emtpy password) fails To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/casper/+bug/1788797/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
